Nominations open for ICAS young CA competition 2018

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) has announced the opening of entries for its Top 100 Young CAs competition and is encouraging CAs to nominate peers under the age of 35 who excel and innovate in their field.

Launched at last week’s ICAS Winter Social event in London, the competition follows on from the success of ICAS’s 35 CAs under 35 initiative in recent years and aims to expand our reach in rewarding the achievements of young CAs.

Nominations are open until 8 March 2018 and the Top 100 Young CAs will be announced in a dedicated publication in the June 2018 edition of The CA magazine.

Every CA on the list will receive an invitation to an exclusive ICAS Young CAs summit in London.

Bruce Cartwright

Incoming chief executive of ICAS, Bruce Cartwright CA, said: “This is a brand new approach to recognising our brilliant young CAs and all the extraordinary work they do in the profession and beyond. So many of our younger members are driving change and positively influencing the future of business, finance and politics with innovative ideas and sharp minds. They are raising the profile of ICAS around the world and we are extremely proud of them all.

“I would strongly urge my fellow CAs to nominate their colleagues and mentees for this accolade and I wish everyone entering the best of luck.”

ICAS also said it is welcoming back Investec Click & Invest as principal partner of the competition for a second year.

Investec CEO Jane Warren, said: “Our partnership with ICAS is a natural fit and we are proud to be the Principal Partner of ICAS Young CAs 2018 for a second year. We are excited to be involved with celebrating their out of the ordinary achievements and working with talented individuals, for whom I am sure have very bright futures ahead of them.”
