NHS Golden Jubilee Board appoints University of Strathclyde CFO Steven Wallace
The cabinet secretary for health and social care, Humza Yousaf MSP has announced the appointment of Steven Wallace as a member of the NHS Golden Jubilee board.
The NHS Golden Jubilee is a national institution, independently run by its own NHS Board. The NHS Golden Jubilee aims to re-define the concept of the public hospital to “Deliver care through collaboration” for NHS Scotland.
The NHS Golden Jubilee family includes:
- Golden Jubilee National Hospital,
- NHS Scotland Academy,
- National Centre for Sustainable Delivery,
- Golden Jubilee Research Institute, and
- Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel.
Mr Wallace’s appointment is for four years, from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2026. With a commitment of one day per week, the remuneration is set at £8,930 per annum.
Mr Wallace qualified with an Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance at Glasgow University before embarking on a global finance career with the Weir Group PLC. He is currently the chief financial officer for the University of Strathclyde.
Over the course of his career Mr Wallace has held senior finance posts across a number of geographies. He has also had executive responsibility for the development and delivery of significant capital projects. With this expertise he will provide governance oversight and to help inform and shape the work of the board.
Additionally, Mr Wallace is acting vice chair and non-executive on the board of management of Ayrshire College, to which he commits two to four days per month. He does not receive any remuneration in relation to this role.
