Newton’s Richard Sankey joins Psigma’s Charity team
Edinburgh-based Psigma Investment Management has continued to expand its charity team with the appointment of Newton’s Richard Sankey as business development director reporting to Frank McGarry.
Mr Sankey will be responsible for growing Psigma’s charity assets working alongside Michael Firth, Richard Hyder, David Robertson, Jane Tulloch, Rupert Stone and Andrew Wauchope, who joined in April from UBS where he was head of charities.
Mr Sankey’s wealth management experience spans more than 16 years having started his career in finance after leaving the Army to obtain an MBA from Cass Business School.
A client director at Newton Investment Management, he was a member of the Pooled Funds team developing and managing relationships with charities, endowments and institutional investors.
Previous positions include client facing roles at Capco, Hermes Investment Management and Kleinwort Benson.
Frank McGarry, Director of Business Development and Marketing said: “Richard will be a great addition to the already experienced team whose aim is to be a manager of choice for charities. Psigma’s highly successful investment approach has the key aim of protecting clients’ wealth and providing them with a real return over inflation. This is exactly the approach preferred by those charities, who need to preserve the real value of their reserves whilst growing their income for their day to day activities.”
