New Partner at Thomson Cooper
Dunfermline-based accountants Thomson Cooper have announced a key appointment to their senior team in a move which the company says is part of its growth strategy.
Mark Gibson, who works in the firm’s Dunfermline office has been promoted to the position of Partner.
He will continue to support managing partner, David Walker, and the agricultural team in developing the firm’s substantial agricultural portfolio.
Mr Gibson qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008, joined the firm in 2009 and was made an Associate in 2015.
From Cupar in Fife, he has been involved in the farming community for many years and specialises in agricultural accounting. He advises clients on all aspects of taxation, from inheritance tax on succession to capital taxes on land disposals.
Mr Gibson has also gained considerable expertise over the past few years in the renewable sector, helping clients successfully present business plans for farm diversification to banks and secondary lenders.
Managing partner, David Walker, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to the Partnership. He has extensive knowledge of the issues facing our farming clients, and I believe this experience means he is well placed to guide our clients through the challenges that the Brexit transition could bring. Mark has built strong relationships with our clients and I believe he will continue to make a substantial contribution to the firm going forward.”
