New director joins JLL Glasgow rating team
Property company JLL has appointed Paul Fallon as a director to strengthen the firm’s Glasgow rating team.
Mr Fallon will be responsible for helping the firm’s rating team identify solutions for JLL’s Scottish clients facing the 2023 Revaluation, to help secure savings across both traditional and specialist property types.
Prior to joining JLL, Mr Fallon held senior roles at real estate consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton. For well over a decade, he delivered valuation and rating advice to some of the UK’s largest owners, occupiers, retailers, developers and investors, while developing a specialism in the industrial and logistics market. Before this, he was a valuer at Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board, where he kickstarted his career.
His arrival coincides with the upcoming 2023 Scottish Revaluation process and the recently released Draft 2023 Rateable Values. With Mr Fallon’s appointment, JLL can reinforce its national rating offering, guiding ratepayers through liability increases and a changing appeals process.
He joins JLL’s national 47-strong rating team led by Tim Beattie, which provides advice to over 500 clients from across all sectors in UK business.
Niall Rankin, lead director of JLL’s Scottish rating team, said: “Throughout 2022, we’ve continued to strengthen our rating offering in Scotland. We have ambitious targets, and Paul will play a critical part in helping us achieve these goals.
“His experience within some of our key sectors means he has a deep understanding of the challenges many of our clients are facing and is well-positioned to help our Scottish clients navigate the introduction of a new ‘frontloaded’ appeal process given his experience working with valuation trends and market evidence. We’re very excited to welcome him to the team.”
Mr Fallon, rating director at JLL in Glasgow, said: “JLL has built itself an enviable reputation, providing a high standard of support to its clients, so I am looking forward to joining and using my experience to further support its client roster.
“With all the impending changes, my focus will be on helping clients to understand what this means for them and working with them to provide solutions.”
