Mazars achieves double-digit growth across Scottish offices
International audit, tax, and advisory firm Mazars has reported double-digit revenue growth across its Scottish offices for the financial year ending August 2023, as the firm’s teams in Edinburgh and Glasgow achieved a combined 13% revenue increase, up 4% from the previous year.
Across the UK, Mazars saw a 16% rise in revenue to £335 million.
To support this growth, in the FY22-23 the firm welcomed a total of 59 new hires to its Scotland offices, reflecting an overall 13% growth in headcount, nearing 200 people.
The Glasgow office saw a 17% increase in team members, and the Edinburgh office reported approximately 10% growth. This expansion included over 25 trainees, interns and graduates, along with 17 internal team promotions.
The Edinburgh office also saw an addition of one new partner, Connie Crawford, as information technology audit partner.
The increase in team members comes as Mazars has expanded its services to clients in Scotland. Along with key hires being made across all key business areas, the financial planning team has grown through the acquisition of Independent Women, which specialises in female-focused financial advice.
Laura Clarkson, Scotland office managing partner at Mazars, said: “We are thrilled to announce strong growth and expansion across our offices in Scotland during the FY 22-23.
“We’re proud to have grown our revenue, welcomed new clients, and added strength and depth to our teams.
“As we look ahead, we remain focused on driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and continuing to exceed the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.”
Mazars also expanded its public sector work, building a 15-person team for Audit Scotland. The firm also provides financial outsourcing and payroll support for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
A testimonial from this client stated: “For the last year we have worked with Mazars and wished we had done this sooner. The entire team is very helpful, professional and proficient.
“Mazars assist us in making our foundation’s finance and payroll run seamlessly and their advice is always to hand which is important to us as a growing charity.
“I would without hesitation recommend Mazars to anyone looking for outsourced support, they managed our onboarding process with ease and are seen as an important part of our team.”
