Martin Aitken & Co appoints new director of business advisory and accounting

Glasgow Chartered Accountants and business advisers Martin Aitken & Co has announced the appointment of a director of its business advisory and accounting division, to further broaden its client portfolio service offering across the West of Scotland.

Mark McRae joins Martin Aitken & Co from Scott-Moncrieff where he led its Glasgow Business Advisory team servicing a wide portfolio of clients – from start-ups up to growing and established businesses.

Throughout his 24-year career, he has advised on a raft of business management issues from operational and profitability improvements, fund raising, tax efficiencies and savings, organisational restructuring, training and the provision of practical technical advice for clients across a wide range of sectors. These include manufacturing, engineering, retail, technology, leisure associations, charities and pension schemes.

Moreover, Mark has been heavily involved in the renewable energy sector advising both commercial and community organisations on corporate strategy, tax efficiencies, business planning and fund raising. He has also served as Finance Director of the Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce and was previously on the board of the Glasgow Nautical College.
