Macduff sees annual revenue rise to £13m as whisky sales return to pre-Covid levels
Glasgow-based whisky blender and distributor Macduff International has reported a 15% rise in annual revenue to £13 million after sales returned to pre-Covid levels.
The firm made a pre-tax profit of £902,227 in the year ending 30 April 2022, up from £811,631 for the previous year. In its latest accounts filed at Companies House, the businesses noted supply chain issues as a result of Covid and Brexit hampered performance.
The company’s founders, three drinks industry veterans, established Macduff International in 1992 and bought the Lauder’s, Islay Mist and Grand Macnish brands. In 2011, it was bought by Danish private investors and David Sloan, who has been with the business since it began, remained as managing director and minority shareholder.
The accounts show that the value of its whisky stock was £20.8m, up from £18.8m in 2021. Blending, maturing, and bottling take place at the InchDairnie Distillery in Fife.
The company’s accounts were audited by Azets.
