Link Group graded ‘A’ by international financial ratings agency

Link Group Limited’s finances have retained their ‘A’ with a stable outlook rating given by Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings (S&P) in its most recent November 2024 review.

S&P, an American credit rating agency that publishes financial research and analysis on stocks, bonds, and commodities, graded Link, one of Scotland’s largest housing associations, positively following an assessment last month.

Link Group director of finance, Nick Pollard, said: “The last 18 months have been a challenging period for social housing in Scotland. Rapidly rising interest rates, inflation and high energy costs are reasons why revenues in the housing sector have largely been reduced.

“Despite the financial pressures, I am proud to see Link Group continue to pursue important issues like carbon net zero and sustainability while improving tenants’ homes and communities through its business plan and strategies.

“Remaining financially secure and solvent allows Link Group to realise its aims and ambitions.

“Therefore, an assessment by an internationally respected rating agency such as S&P gives everyone great confidence Link will continue its innovative improvements to people’s lives despite the uncertainties of the financial markets.”

S&P first undertook a credit assessment of Link in March 2018. At the time, Link was one of only two Scottish housing associations to receive a credit rating.
