Laurence Tracol appointed new vice president of finance at Skyscanner
Skyscanner has announced the appointment of former eBay executive Laurence Tracol as its new vice president of finance.
The firm was founded in Edinburgh in 2003 and now currently employs around 1,500 staff globally.
Ms Tracol will report COO Kris Beyens and will lead the firm’s global finance function across Europe, the US and APAC and has joined Skyscanner’s executive team.
At eBay, Ms Tracol held a number of finance leadership positions, and most recently served as Deputy CFO for eBay International.
Kris Beyens said: “Laurence has a strong track record of accelerating growth, driving strategic business initiatives and developing high-performing teams. Leading Finance, Laurence will support our overarching business strategy and directives. She is highly aligned to Skyscanner’s mission of leading the transformation to modern and sustainable travel: we’re delighted to welcome Laurence to the Skyscanner team.”
Like the majority of Skyscanner colleagues, Ms Tracol has been working remotely, she said: “I’ve joined the business at a challenging but exciting time and the past few weeks have been spent listening and learning from the fantastic team in place at Skyscanner. The impact of COVID-19 on the travel sector is not inconsiderable, but Skyscanner enjoys a prime position in the world of travel.
“I believe that there is pent-up demand for travel in the future, which makes for a significant financial opportunity for a global business like Skyscanner. As VP of Finance, my team will focus on how to best capitalise on this opportunity as we seek to further Skyscanner’s ambitious longer-term financial growth.”
Outside of Skyscanner, Ms Tracol also serves as a non-executive director and strategic advisor.
