Kevin McColgan has stood down as CEO of Aberdeenshire-based Bancon Group with effect from today.

In a statement, Bancon said Mr McColgan – an experienced construction industry leader who was appointed to the role in September 2023 – was standing down “due to personal reasons”.

“The company thanks Mr McColgan for his contribution during his tenure and wishes him success in his future endeavours,” it added.

In a LinkedIn post this afternoon, Mr McColgan said he had left his position as CEO “by mutual consent, due to personal reasons” and wanted to “wish the business all the success in the future”.

The Banchory-headquartered group announced a “strategic corporate restructure” coinciding with the CEO’s departure.

Bob McAlpine has been appointed as executive chairman and Andrew Tweedie is taking on responsibility for all financial, investment and corporate matters across the group in the newly-created role of chief financial officer.

Jamie Tosh will continue in his role as managing director of homes and construction, and David Crawford will remain as managing director of Deeside Timberframe.

The business said: “These changes reflect Bancon Group’s commitment to ensuring strong leadership and operational efficiency as it embarks on the next phase of its growth strategy.”
