On Sunday 5th June a team of 20 employees from Kames Capital, the Edinburgh-based asset management business, will take part in the 2016 Leith Dragon Boat Race.

Now in its sixth year, the event takes place beside Ocean Terminal, close to the Royal Yacht Britannia. Crews of 16 paddlers (plus drummers) from across Scotland will compete in a series of head-to-head races over 250 metres.

The Kames Crusaders are raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, Kames Capital’s 2016 Charity of the Year, and for local good causes through the Leith Rotary Benevolent Fund.

Greg Cooper, Kames Capital’s Chief Administration Officer and member of the 20-strong team, said: “We have set ourselves a target of funding 1,000 hours of support from Macmillan nurses in 2016. Funds raised from the Leith Dragon Boat Challenge will be vital in helping us achieve that.”

There will be plenty of space for supporters to watch on the day, should anybody wish to go along.
