Julius Baer joins Scottish Financial Enterprise
Private banking group Julius Baer International Limited has joined Scottish Financial Enterprise as they establish their new regional headquarters in Edinburgh, having opened an office at One Lochrin Square in May this year.
Julius Baer is one of the world’s leading private banks and employs over 6,000 people with a presence in over 25 countries, including key locations across the UK.
The Swiss bank established a permanent presence in Scotland as part of its commitment to substantial investment in the UK and Ireland, with new office openings in Manchester, Leeds and Dublin and further hires in Belfast.
Calum Brewster, head of UK regional offices at Julius Baer International, said: “We believe there is a huge opportunity in Scotland, having seen a noticeable increase in the number of business owners, entrepreneurs and individuals seeking wealth and investment management solutions.
“We are proud to support innovation in Scotland and by becoming a member of Scotland’s primary representative body for financial services, we’re pleased to help promote Scotland’s financial services industry and be part of this network.”
Graeme Jones, Scottish Financial Enterprise chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Julius Baer to our growing membership as they open their new office in Edinburgh. The private bank is absolutely committed to being part of our financial services community, which now employs 161,000 people in Scotland following an increase of 10,000 last year.
“Edinburgh is the UK’s largest banking centre outside of London and it’s pleasing to see international companies like Julius Baer recognising the value of being based here. We’re looking forward to working with Julius Baer and our members to help grow and strengthen the financial services industry here in Scotland.”
