Provisional liquidators have been appointed to connected companies Atherton Corporate (UK) Ltd and Atherton Corporate Rescue Limited, which offered a service to facilitate the sale of distressed companies as an alternative to using insolvency practitioners.

The official receiver was appointed as provisional liquidator of Atherton Corporate (UK) Ltd at the High Court in London on Monday 29 July.

Ms Tait was appointed as provisional liquidator of Atherton Corporate Rescue Limited at the Court of Sessions in Scotland on Wednesday 24 July.

A winding-up petition against Atherton Corporate (UK) Ltd will be heard on Tuesday 27 August, while a date for the winding-up hearing against Atherton Corporate Rescue Limited has yet to be confirmed.

Both companies changed their names in July 2024. Atherton Corporate (UK) Ltd is now named POC Ventures Ltd, while Atherton Corporate Rescue Limited is now named QRC Consulting Ltd.
