JTC saw a significant rise in sales from £25.1 million in 2022 to £29.3m in 2023, with pre-tax profits reaching £1.4m. This success comes after a challenging 2022, marked by rising energy and material costs.

JTC, which employs nearly 250 people in Dundee, attributed the profit increase to a focus on growing its contract kitchen business and overcoming supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic, Brexit, and the Ukraine conflict. The company remains optimistic about future growth, with plans to explore new markets and opportunities.

The firm was acquired in April this year by Northern Irish firm Woodland Kitchens, which is backed by BGF. This is expected to result in a combined turnover of more than £50 million for the two firms.
