This UK-wide event, held at the Hilton London Metropole, celebrates excellence within the tax profession.

Led by partner and head of private client tax Alexandra Docherty, the practice was praised by judges at the event, held at the Hilton London Metropole on Thursday night, for how it puts clients “at the heart” of all its work.

The award win comes as the team enjoys a year of growth, reaching a headcount of 61, making it one of the largest private client tax practices in the UK.

The private client team’s turnover also grew year-on-year by 11.5% in the firm’s last financial year, ending 31 May 2023

Ms Docherty said: “It’s a really proud moment for everyone in our team to be awarded Best Private Client Tax Practice.

“Judges praised our practice for how we put the client at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition from our peers is testament to the dedication and care we provide and how our staff go above and beyond for our clients.

“We’ve had real growth in the last 12 months and our focus is on continuing to build on that further in the year ahead.”

The firm’s head of tax Susie Walker, who has worked in a number of senior roles in the industry for over three decades, was also nominated for a Lifetime Achievement award at the event.

Tolley’s Taxation Awards encompasses a range of categories covering the whole of the tax profession including professional practices of all sizes, specialist firms, and those working in-house or in the public sector.
