Johnston Carmichael strengthens senior team with promotions

Johnston Carmichael promotions June 2016Johnston Carmichael has announced six promotions within its leadership team, as part of the Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers’ growth strategy across Scotland.

David Ward and Toby Rintoul of the Edinburgh office, Jennifer Cormack of Huntly, Louise Peters of Forfar and Richard Britten of Aberdeen have all been promoted to the position of partner, effective from June 1. Scott Dunbar from the firm’s Elgin office has been promoted to director.

David Ward joined the firm in November 2014. A Research and Development (R&D) tax specialist, he is based in the Edinburgh office. He has a broad range of experience covering several industry sectors, including financial services, transport, projects, real estate, oil & gas and renewable energy.

Toby Rintoul, based in Edinburgh, leads Johnston Carmichael’s Business Solutions service, providing support for clients’ finance functions. Toby provides commercial and practical business advice to companies, looking beyond the numbers to focus on helping them achieve their strategic goals.

Jennifer Cormack joined Johnston Carmichael in 1993 and works out of the Huntly office. In her business advisory role she manages an extensive portfolio of clients predominantly in the agricultural sector but also across wind energy, dentistry and pharmacy.

Louise Peters, based in the Forfar office, joined the firm in 2004. She works with clients across a variety of sectors including medical and healthcare, construction and hospitality. With her vast knowledge of the sector, Louise will lead the medical sector offering by Johnston Carmichael from her Forfar base.

Richard Britten is an employment tax specialist based in the Aberdeen office. With over twenty years of experience in ‘big four’ and independent firms, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients. He is well known for his work with employers operating within the oil & gas, financial services and technology industries.

Scott Dunbar joined Johnston Carmichael in 2008 and is based in the Elgin office. He manages a diverse client portfolio and advises on accounting and taxation, helping clients to add value to their business.

The promotions bring the total number of partners at Johnston Carmichael to 56.
