Johnston Carmichael appointed interim liquidator of Scotland Electronics
Gordon MacLure, restructuring partner at Johnston Carmichael, has been appointed interim liquidator of Scotland Electronics (International) Limited.
A petition seeking the winding-up of the business was raised by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in February, and a winding up order was made at the Court of Session this week.
The company designed and manufactured precision electronics for use in harsh environments by organisations operating in the defence, oil and gas, and aeronautics sectors.
Scotland Electronics (International) Limited, which operated from Nova House, Forres Enterprise Park, Forres, had 11 employees, who were unfortunately made redundant on Friday.
Mr Maclure said “It would appear that the company has suffered severe cashflow difficulties over a long period exacerbated by the downturn in the oil and gas industry and unfortunately, the company was unable to agree an arrangement regarding the outstanding arrears sought by HMRC.”
He further commented that “the company has established a strong customer base and developed a good reputation for quality products and if any party has an interest acquiring the company’s assets then they should contact me as soon as possible”.
