Irn Bru boss pay rises to hit nearly £1.1m
The chief executive of Irn Bru makers AG Barr was paid almost £1.1 million last year after increases in his annual and long term bonuses.
Roger White was paid a £421,000 basic salary in the 12 months to January 25, according to Barr’s annual report.
He also received an annual bonus of £320,000, long-term incentives which paid out £196,000, pension contributions worth £108,000 and other benefits to the value of £30,000.
The generous renumeration come in a year that saw underlying pre-tax profits rise from £38.1m to £41.2m on the back of revenue rising from £254.1m to £260.9m.
Mr White was paid £989,000 in 2013.
The annual report states Mr White and other executive directors will receive a three per cent increase in their basic salaries.
That will take Mr White’s to £434,000 with new finance director Stuart Lorimer, enjoying an increase from £250,000 to £256,000.
The annual report also shows average staff numbers increased from 999 to 1,048 with employee costs rising from £42.2m to £44.6m.
Alex Short, who left his finance director role at AG Barr in August last year to join drinks group Edrington, was paid £283,000 during the year including an annual bonus of £104,000.
Commercial director Jonathan Kemp received a total of £558,000, up from £503,000, including a £168,000 annual bonus and £104,000 of longterm incentives.
Supply chain director Andrew Memmott was paid £504,000 including a bonus of £149,000 and £93,000 from a long-term plan. His pay package was £468,000 in the prior year.
