Irish property firm in talks over potential purchase of Glasgow’s Virgin Hotel
An Irish property investment and development firm is in advanced discussions to purchase the Virgin Hotel in Glasgow.
Virgin Hotel closed in December 2023 after operating for only four months.
The 17-storey hotel, located on Clyde Street along the River Clyde, had been forced to shut due to financial difficulties faced by its owner, Lloyds Developments, Scottish Business News reports.
Administrators Interpath Advisory told Scottish Financial News that it is in advanced discussions with an interested buyer.
The Virgin Hotel was placed on the market earlier this year by Savills after Lloyds Developments entered administration in December 2023. Virgin Hotels operated the site under a management contract.
