Iqarus appoints Lyall Dochard as Chief Financial Officer
Healthcare and medical solutions company Iqarus has appointed Lyall Dochard as chief financial officer to lead the company’s financial and governance strategy as it continues its rapid global growth in remote and difficult operating environments.
With a successful track record designing and implementing finance and risk management structures in a growing multinational environment, Dochard will oversee Iqarus’ financial and corporate governance activity as the company pursues its ongoing aggressive global expansion and diversifications strategy.
Commenting on his new role, Dochard said: “I am delighted to be joining Iqarus at this important time in its development. I look forward to working with Tim and the senior management team as the company continues to invest internally and externally to expand and deliver against its strategic priorities.”
Dochard has over 25 years’ experience as a senior finance professional in expanding international organisations across a number of sectors including oil and gas, technology and biotech. As Chief Financial Officer at Swire Oilfield Services he guided that company through a rapid period of international expansion and diversification. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Tim Mitchell, CEO of Iqarus said: “A strong finance strategy and an embedded risk management culture is crucial to the growth of our diverse and rapidly evolving business. Lyall’s experience, knowledge and judgement are a perfect fit with our culture and our vision for Iqarus. Having Lyall join the leadership team will provide the strong financial and corporate governance we need to enable and maintain our growth in extending healthcare into the world’s most remote and difficult environments.”
Iqarus was formed last year by a management team led by CEO Tim Mitchell and backed by MML Capital Partners. The company aims to become the leading international provider of healthcare solutions in remote and difficult environments through a combination of strategic acquisitions and aggressive organic growth.
To date, Iqarus has acquired and integrated the former Capita Energy Medical Services business, with a 40-year history of delivering medical services to the energy sector in the North Sea, C-Chec, a world-leading occupational hygiene consultancy which delivers environmental sciences consultancy in tandem with medical and health provision, and Exmed, leaders in remote medical support, equipment and clinical education.
Iqarus customers include global energy companies, international governmental and humanitarian agencies and media organisations. They support medical missions and operations in locations such as the North Sea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Siberia.
