Investec Wealth & Investment has appointed Cameron Kinnaird as a senior investment director in the firm’s office in Glasgow.

Covering the Scottish market, the firm said Mr Kinnaird brings 27 years investment management experience in managing portfolios for private clients and families, along with managing funds for charitable trusts and SIPPs.

He will report to divisional director, Stuart Light.

Mr Kinnaird began his career in Glasgow with Parsons and Co. as a UK equity dealer before a two-year spell in London with an Inter-Dealer broker. After returning to Parsons and Co, Cameron stayed with the firm throughout a number of name changes and eventually left to join Brewin Dolphin as a divisional director in 2001.

A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), Mr Kinnaird sits on both the Macmillan Glasgow City Committee and the Investment Panel of Resilient Scotland, an organisation which provides capital to social enterprise businesses.

He said: “Investec Wealth & Investment has an excellent reputation in Scotland and I’m delighted to be joining the firm. I am confident that my considerable experience in the regional wealth industry will help the firm grow its client base and market share even further.”

Stuart Light, divisional director – IW&I Glasgow, added: “We are delighted to welcome Cameron to our team. He has an exceptional level of experience in managing portfolios. His appointment builds on IW&I’s recent successes in expanding investment teams in Scotland and across several of our UK offices.”
