Inverness underfloor heating business becomes employee owned

Optimum Underfloor Heating Ltd has moved to employee ownership via an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

The company is now 100% controlled by the EOT on behalf of all the current employees and is the first underfloor heating company in the UK to make this transition.

The decision to transition to employee ownership was driven by a desire to remain independent, to preserve the company’s values and a recognition that the company was built on the hard work and commitment of its employees.

The business was started nearly 18 years ago by husband and wife team Rory Haigh and Eilidh Sutherland, who will remain involved as part of the transition to employee ownership.

Managing director Rory Haigh said: “I am delighted that my staff can continue their journey with Optimum UFH and be rewarded for all their hard work through the new ownership structure.

“It also provides reassurance to all our loyal customers that they will continue to receive the first class service they have become accustomed to.”

Optimum UFH was advised by Ralph Leishman of 4 Consulting, Douglas Roberts and Nimarta Cheema of TLT and Hilary Clelland of Saffery LLP.
