Ian Ferguson, leader of Aviva Perth, to retire after 38 years
Ian Ferguson, leader of Aviva’s Perth office, is set to retire after a career spanning 38 years with Aviva.
Mr Ferguson, also property claims director at Aviva, has played a leading role shaping and promoting Scotland’s thriving financial services industry, serving as a board member of the Scottish Financial Services Advisory Board (chaired by Nicola Sturgeon), Scottish Financial Enterprise, Career Academies (Scotland) and the Perth Development Board. He is also twice past President of the Perth chapter of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Speaking about Ian’s departure, Aviva UK GI CEO Colm Holms said: “Aviva has greatly benefited from Ian’s passion, commitment, energy and expertise over the last 38 years. Ian has consistently strived to make a real difference to our customers, our people and our business – leaving behind a true legacy. I’d like to thank and congratulate Ian on all he has achieved in his career and wish him the very best as he begins a new and exciting chapter.”
Following Ian’s retirement, David Skinn, distribution director at Aviva, will represent Aviva across the multiple Scottish and Perth financial services organisations where Ian served as a board member. Ian and David will now begin a dedicated transition programme to ensure continuity of Aviva’s leadership and presence in the Scottish financial services community. Originally from Yorkshire, David has lived in Scotland for the last 22 years and lives in Perth with his wife and two children.
Kelly Robson will succeed Ian as property claims director at Aviva. Kelly joined (then) Norwich Union in 1998 and has worked across the UK General Insurance business in a wide variety of roles in that time.
