HSBC extends post office services for Scotland business customers

HSBC business customers in Scotland can now take advantage of a range of new banking services at the Post Office, including the introduction of a cheque depositing service.

HSBC has enabled its business customers to deposit cheques at Post Offices across the UK.

Until now, customers have been able to pay in cash, withdraw funds and check their account balance using a business debit card.

For customers that do not wish to issue employee debit cards HSBC can now provide a new Business Deposit Card, making it simpler for businesses to utilise the banking services available at the Post Office.

These cards mean a Business Debit Card isn’t required to identify customer employees, allowing them to access banking services at the Post Office.

The changes are significant for the increasing number of business customers that are now using the Post Office for their day-to-day banking needs. More than 250,000 transactions have been completed by HSBC business customers at the Post Office since HSBC extended banking services available at the Post Office to its business customers in December 2015.

Andrew Little, HSBC’s head of business banking in Scotland, said: “This extension of our successful partnership with the Post Office is a further example of the different banking solutions that are now available to our business customers in Scotland. It’s giving businesses more choice and flexibility than ever before, with the enhanced offering at the Post Office making banking simpler for our customers in Scotland.”

The Post Office, with its extensive branch network, provides HSBC customers access to 11,500 Post Office branches to carry out their banking needs. This gives HSBC customers another channel through which they can do their day-to-day banking.
