HSBC backing sees opening of Prestwick’s first Costa Coffee

Stirling franchise business, Coffeepots, has opened its first Costa Coffee in Prestwick using a seven-figure finance facility from HSBC.

The new location is Coffeepots 12th Costa Coffee outlet and has created 10 jobs for the local economy, marking the beginning of rapid expansion for the company.

Business partners Pat Dunese and Colin Wilson purchased Coffeepots in August 2016 and have since opened six Costa Coffee locations, including the latest in Prestwick.

The company’s growth, supported by HSBC, has increased turnover by 150% and has created 60 new jobs in the last 18 months at locations in the central belt between Falkirk and Prestwick.

Dunese and Wilson have ambitious plans for expansion across Scotland, with hopes to double the number of Costa Coffee shops in the next two years.

Pat Dunese said: “The Prestwick store is our sixth opening in the past year and a half and we have no plans to slow down. HSBC’s support has been invaluable, enabling us to realise Coffeepots’ full potential as we look forward to further growth across Scotland in the coming years.”

Grant Bett, relationship director at HSBC in Scotland, added: “Our dedicated franchise team has a lot of expertise across the franchise sector and we’re delighted to use that to support such an ambitious business, which is benefitting the Scottish central belt, creating 60 new part-time and full-time jobs. I congratulate Pat and Colin on their most recent store in Prestwick and look forward to seeing what is next for this growing business.”
