House of Bruar plans £2m expansion after profitable year
Country fashion retailer The House of Bruar is set to expand its online retail operation with a £2 million investment.
According to the company’s managing director, Patrick Birkbeck, online sales have grown “exponentially” since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Despite concerns about a slowdown in consumer spending, Mr Birkbeck believes that continual reinvestment is important for the company’s growth.
The Perthshire-based company’s latest accounts for the year ending January 31, 2022, show sales of £36m and profits before taxes, depreciation, and amortization of £9m.
The company is currently tendering for the construction of a new 20,000 sq ft building in Ballinluig, 12 miles south of the main Blair Atholl House of Bruar complex, The Courier & Advertiser reports.
