Home-Start Dundee to appoint Shona Campbell of Henderson Loggie as liquidator

Home-Start Dundee, a charity dedicated to supporting families in need, is to appoint Shona Campbell of Henderson Loggie as liquidator.
The decision comes after extensive efforts to secure sustainable financial support and attract new volunteers to allow the charity to continue its work in the Dundee community where it has been active for over 40 years.
Last year Home-Start UK supported 78,900 children in 43,692 families, in communities across the UK. Home-Start Dundee has operated as an individual entity under the national brand umbrella for over forty years. It employs five members of staff and is run by a volunteer board of trustees. Five jobs will now be lost, with one member of staff re-employed in a similar role with Home-Start Perth & Kinross. Families receiving support have been advised to seek the resources they need elsewhere.
Shona Campbell said: “Home-Start Dundee has been a lifeline for many families in the Dundee area, and this decision reflects the harsh realities of funding challenges faced by many charities today. We are committed to managing this process with compassion and integrity starting with a thorough assessment of the charity’s assets and liabilities, communicating with creditors, and ensuring that all legal obligations are met throughout the liquidation process.”
A spokesperson for the board of trustees at Home-Start Dundee said: “Home-Start Dundee would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to all staff, volunteers, and supporters who have contributed to the charity’s mission over the years. The charity’s commitment to improving the lives of families has made a lasting impact in the community, and regretfully the resources required to continue could not be secured.”
