Henderson Loggie expands corporate finance team
Henderson Loggie has appointed Ian McDonald as senior manager in the firm’s corporate finance team following a strong performance which has seen the firm close a number of deals in recent months.
The firm also confirmed Jamie Beal has been promoted to the position of corporate finance director based at the accountancy firm’s Glasgow office.
Mr McDonald joins Henderson Loggie from Westwood Global Energy to focus on lead advisory and transaction support in the Aberdeen and Tayside markets. Previously he held roles with leading advisory firms and UK banks, building in-depth knowledge of M&A, private equity and debt advisory.
Rod Mathers, head of corporate finance at Henderson Loggie, said: “I am absolutely delighted with Ian’s appointment and Jamie’s promotion. It reflects our commitment to growing the firm’s deal advisory practice and the increase in deal flow over the last three years where we have advised on transactions with a combined value in excess of £100 million. We are delighted to have completed a number of notable transactions recently including the sale of Rembrand Timber to Cairngorm Capital, the sale of Rockwell Solutions to Sappi Europe and the acquisition of Dogfish Mobile by Insights Group.”
Mr McDonald said: “A period of relative stability in the oil price has seen some much needed confidence return to the market in Aberdeen. This, I believe, will present strong opportunities in M&A and fundraising as companies keep pace with the resurgence in industry. As a team we have significant experience and, with our long established practice in the North East, we are well placed to advise owner managed businesses where growth capital is required or where there is a need for succession planning and execution.”
David Smith, Henderson Loggie’s managing partner added: “We are very pleased with the progress that Rod and the Corporate Finance team are making and excited about the firm’s growth plans. We are committed to expanding our presence in the West of Scotland through the provision of both specialist and compliance services to owner managed businesses. Shona Campbell recently joined the firm as a Director in our Corporate Recovery team and will work closely with Rod’s team where there is a need for debt advice or re-finance.”
