Haines Watts Scotland appoints Craig Hunter as audit partner
Accountancy firm Haines Watts Scotland has appointed Craig Hunter as audit partner.
Mr Hunter has assumed the role of audit partner from 1 April 2020 in the newly formed Haines Watts Scotland Audit LLP with the primary objective of continuing to provide a high-quality audit offering to the existing client base and navigating the audit business forward in 2020 and beyond.
The appointment plays a key role the strategy to further enhance the audit services Haines Watts Scotland currently offers.
Mr Hunter has been promoted from the firm’s senior audit director to partner, having joined Haines Watts in 2017. With over 20 years’ experience in both industry and public practice, he leads the audit function across Scotland and has been successful in expanding the audit business and contributing to the management of the firm.
Graeme Miller, managing partner for Haines Watts Scotland, said: “The partners are delighted with the growth of the audit offering during the three years Craig has been with the firm. Craig has contributed to the success of our audit and assurance business during this time and has also completed our challenging and aspirational leadership development programme.
“We recognise the loyalty and commitment shown by Craig in taking the step into partnership and look forward to growing the audit and assurance offering under his leadership.”
Mr Hunter added: “I am delighted to join the partnership and despite the uncertainties and challenges we are all currently facing, I consider this to be a fantastic opportunity to contribute further to the growth of our audit and assurance business across Scotland.
“With quality at the focal point of everything that we do, delivered by a highly capable and experienced team, I believe that we have a solid base from which to build further in the years ahead.”
