This latest figure comes following a period of rapid growth for the team over the past three years.

Since the opening of gunnercooke’s first Scottish offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh in May 2021, the team has gone from strength to strength. In addition to Mr Etchells and Ms Dunn, the team includes senior associate Ruscar Ullah and associate Morven Badger Finlayson.

Mr Etchells joined from Dentons, initially bringing one associate and a PA. He was joined by his long-time colleague Ms Dunn as a partner in March 2022, completing the transition of his full team from Dentons.

The team operates across both Scottish and English law, with 55-65% of its real estate work executed under English law.

At gunnercooke the team has developed a busy practice, now working with a range of high-profile clients, including The Martin Property Group, Stonehage Fleming, Chint Solar UK Management, Laings (Jeweller) Glasgow and Evelyn Partners.

Mr Etchells said: “It’s been an incredibly positive year for the team, marked by substantial growth in deal value and a significant expansion of our client base.

“These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our team members, and we are excited to continue building on this momentum going into 2025 and beyond.”
