Growing accountancy firm opens second office in Banchory

An Aberdeen-based accounting firm has added a second branch to its portfolio to meet customer demand thanks to a six-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

TaxAssist Accountants, specialists in tax services for small businesses, is opening a new office on High Street, Banchory.

The new office marks the next phase in the company’s ambitious growth plans, which began when Steven Mearns, director of the branches, took over management from his father in 2017.

The two branches, which are part of the TaxAssist network, provide accountancy services to individuals and small businesses, including tax returns, annual accounts, payroll and book keeping.

Steven Mearns, director of the new branch, said: “Small businesses are the cornerstones of any community, and we work hard to make sure the services we provide are of a high standard, cost effective and tailored to our customers. There is a real need for a network of local, approachable business services, and this is why we’ve taken the step to open a new branch.

“Thanks to Royal Bank of Scotland, we can grow the reach of our services, and help local businesses achieve their goals.”

Jamie Smith, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “It has been thoroughly rewarding working with a company that supports local businesses and puts the interests of its customers first.”
