Gender representation on Standard Life Aberdeen board improves
Standard Life Aberdeen has moved from 92nd to 10th place on a review which ranks all FTSE 350 companies on the gender representation of their boards and executive teams.
The Hampton-Alexander Review is an independent annual report supported by the UK government, which aims to ensure that talented women at the top of business are recognised, promoted and rewarded.
Standard Life Aberdeen has said that its improved ranking reflects its increase in the representation of women on its board and in the two senior leadership levels below this (CEO-1 and CEO-2). This is the biggest improvement year on year of any company in the FTSE 100.
Keith Skeoch, chief executive of Standard Life Aberdeen, said: “Improving gender balance remains a priority for our business. While this year’s Hampton-Alexander report reinforces the actions we are taking at senior management levels, and that they are leading to results, we will continue to do more – to strengthen our gender representation and to make progress across our inclusion agenda.”
The progress which the company is making follows the commitments it has outlined in our action plan to address gender balance which can be found here.
