FSB appeals to shoppers to stuff stockings at small Scottish shops this Saturday
Christmas shoppers are being urged by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to support Scottish independent firms on Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday UK, which has taken place on the first Saturday in December since 2013, is a chance to celebrate the contribution of independent shops, cafes, bars and other businesses to the local economy and community.
Andy Willox, FSB’s Scottish policy convenor, said: “Independent businesses are the vital ingredient in the recipe for successful Scottish communities.
“Small Business Saturday is an annual opportunity for Scots to use the pound in their pocket to back small firms of all descriptions. The response in previous years from the general public to the event has been terrific.
“So if you’re in the town on Saturday buying Christmas presents, meeting friends or picking something up for dinner, make an extra special effort to check out the superb products and services which small firms have to offer.”
