French Duncan partner quits to join Johnston Carmichael
Scotland’s largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers, Johnston Carmichael, has bolstered its offering for small and medium sized enterprises with the addition of John Mason to the Glasgow office.
John joins Johnston Carmichael having spent 20 years as a partner at French Duncan.
He specialises in advising clients in the SME market on accounting and business matters, and his experience in acting as a trusted advisor and forming close working relationships with clients has led to a strong reputation in the SME sector, particularly among owner-managed and family businesses.
John said: “This is an exciting opportunity, especially since the values and principles at the heart of Johnston Carmichael fit exactly with my own values. Looking after clients and doing the right thing by them is the most important part of the job. Technology will impact the accounting market dramatically and there is a real need to work closely with clients to guide them through this period of change.”
He added: “Glasgow is a dynamic and entrepreneurial city where there are many opportunities for growth in the SME market. We’re here to support these businesses and help them to grow. Johnston Carmichael is a leading adviser to SMEs and I want to contribute to the success we are experiencing across the central belt.”
Sandy Manson, Chief Executive at Johnston Carmichael said: “Bringing in someone of John’s calibre is an excellent addition to the team. He offers a wealth of experience from his 20 years of engaging with, and advising, the SME market, on all aspects of accounting, tax and compliance.
“Our clients are our main focus and we want to ensure we continually provide them with the best advice and support. The addition of John to the Glasgow team reinforces this commitment.”
