Scottish mid-tier accountancy & business advisory firm French Duncan has appointed Colin Brown as tax director.

Mr Brown joins a 22 strong tax team at French Duncan, and will advise clients in the UK and overseas on a range of private tax matters. He brings over 25 years’ experience and his specialist areas include capital gains tax, inheritance tax, employment taxes, trusts, tax residence issues and transaction work.

Mr Brown moved to French Duncan from RSM, where he had worked since 2011, and was tax director from 2015. Prior to RSM, he was a tax manager at PWC.

Graeme Finnie, managing partner at French Duncan, said: “We’re delighted with our new addition to the tax team. Colin brings with him a wealth of knowledge and it’s great for us as a firm to be able to offer such a high level of expertise, perfectly complementing the skills of our existing tax team.

“We are looking forward to seeing the impact of Colin’s experience on both our existing and new clients.”

Hazel Burt, Partner & Head of Personal Tax, added: “I have no doubt that Colin will be an extremely valuable asset to the tax team overall, not just the personal tax department.

“Colin’s experience over the last 25 years will be of great benefit to our clients and that’s what we are all about.”
