Scottish accountancy and business services firm French Duncan has boosted its hospitality and leisure team by appointing Ian Bremner as its new hotel accounting director.

French Duncan said Mr Bremner will head up a team that will build on the firm’s existing sector expertise to offer hotels across the world a newly created cloud based accounting management service.

Targeted by French Duncan due to his 20 years of experience in the hotel sector in the UK, during which he served as finance director of a Scottish hotel company which owned and operated six properties throughout the country, Mr Bremner went on to become operations director and managing director within the accountancy industry’s hotel sector working with major branded hotels including Holiday Inn, Hilton, Staybridge Suites and Accor.

Mr Bremner said: ”French Duncan’s progressive approach to accounting and track record in the hospitality sector has provided me with the ideal platform to develop an innovative new product for the hospitality market. We will be able to offer hotels of all sizes a one-stop-shop service that will streamline the operation and help them to take management decisions based on real-time financial data. Making use of mobile devices, clients will have access to critical accounting information in the format they want, when they want it.”

French Duncan has extensive experience in delivering technology led, cloud based accounting services to clients across a number of sectors. The approach means that the company can provide solutions for businesses located just about anywhere in the world, offering particular practical solutions relevant to the hospitality sector.

Graeme Finnie, French Duncan managing partner said: “In Ian we are delighted to have recruited such an experienced sectoral specialist to our Hospitality and Leisure team. We look forward to working with him in the delivery of innovative new services to the global hospitality market.”
