Frasers Group set to return to FTSE 100

Frasers Group is set to rejoin the FTSE 100 tomorrow after defence firm Meggitt was sold to a US rival.

Frasers Group, which previously traded as Sports Direct, dropped out of the index of the UK’s top 100 public companies in 2016 following controversial working conditions and treatment of employees at the company. The opportunity to rejoin the index comes thanks to Parker Hannifin, a US defence firm, purchased UK rival Meggit, The Guardian reports.

The retail group purchased House of Fraser in 2018 and rebranded following the acquisition. Currently, owner Mike Ashley is estimated to be worth $4.7bn (£4bn) and his son-in-law Michael Murray took over as CEO in May this year.
