Forvis Mazars has reported its fifteenth consecutive year of growth in the UK, recording revenue of £362.4 million – an increase of 8.3% – for the year ending 31 August 2024.

This growth continued unabated following the firm’s global network formation on 1 June 2024. Across the UK, audit services saw significant growth of 15.1%, while sustainability services expanded rapidly by 45.4%. Positive results were also seen in advisory & consulting (2.1%), tax (3.4%), and private client (7.9%) services.

The firm invested heavily in its people, increasing UK headcount by 6% to 3,469. This included 524 promotions and the recruitment of 374 early career professionals. The partnership now totals 186, with nearly a third (30.5%) being female.

The team in Scotland has also enjoyed growth across all service lines over the last year. To support this growth, the firm has made a number of key appointments across transfer pricing, insurance risk consulting and financial planning. It has also doubled its capacity to support external audit clients in the mid-market, reinforced by the appointment of Ryan Crilley as audit partner, alongside a number of senior promotions within the existing team.

The leadership team in Scotland has also expanded, with Craig Maxwell appointed the first office managing partner for Glasgow, whilst Jennifer Allison was appointed managing partner for the Edinburgh office.

Mr Maxwell said: “It’s been another incredibly successful period for the Scotland team.

“We are pleased to have grown our team and promoted many existing team members into more senior positions, demonstrating our commitment to both meaningful career development and a high level of client service, which is the bedrock on which the success of our business is built.”

Mr Maxwell continued: “The formation of our new network has created more opportunities for both our clients and employees in Scotland.

“It has provided our clients with access to additional expertise and capabilities, as well as on the ground support for those that have a footprint in the US or are looking to establish a presence there.”

James Gilbey, CEO of Forvis Mazars in the UK, said: “Despite a challenging market and economic headwinds over the past year, we’ve achieved sustainable growth in revenue, profitability and headcount.

“Thanks to our multidisciplinary model, our teams have been able to listen to clients’ needs and respond with the right expertise and support, across service lines, to meet their objectives.

“I’m particularly proud of the strong growth in audit, reflecting both the shifting dynamics in the top end of the audit market and our investment in competing to win in key audit sectors; building expertise and systems to deliver quality for our clients.”
