Former RBS and Standard Life man named Police Scotland’s top civilian
Police Scotland has named financial consultant David Page in a newly-created role that makes him the most senior civilian in its history in order to deliver a “sustainable operating model”.
The authority must find savings of £1.1 billion by 2026 and faces a revenue budget shortfall of £21m for 2016-17.
Mr Page will be charged with meeting that challenge when he becomes the single force’s new “director of corporate services, strategy and change”.
He will earn £173,010 a year.
After starting his career in the British Army, Mr Page joins policing following a successful career in chief operational and strategic change roles in the financial services sector, including Standard Life and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Chief constable Phil Gormley said: “For the first time, and reporting directly to me as chief constable, policing will have someone with David’s skills and experience at the 0 New appointee will report to Chief Constable Phil Gormley most senior decision-making level.
“I firmly believe that this fresh approach will give us the right mix of insights to make the right decisions at the right time as we look to improve the quality of service we provide.”
