Originally built in 1845, the hotel employs 118 staff and is located on a 240-acre woodland estate near Glasgow. 

The joint administrator’s appointment was made on 22 August, however, a statement from the administrators says the resort continues to trade.

The statement also noted that “experienced hotel operators Michels & Taylor have been instructed to support the joint administrators in managing the resort pending a sale”.
