EY appointed auditor to Schroders plc

EY has been proposed as auditors to asset manager Schroders plc.

Should the appointment be backed by shareholders at the 2017 Schroders Annual General Meeting, EY would be appointed for the period commencing 1 January 2018.

The announcement will further strengthen EY’s credentials in the financial services sector and in the wealth and asset management sector.

Schroders decision to choose EY as auditor follows similar moves from RELX group, Royal Dutch Shell, Royal Bank of Scotland, Wesleyan, Foreign & Colonial, Sainsbury’s, Sainsbury Bank, The London Stock Exchange Group, The Co-operative Bank, Sage Group, Land Securities, the BBC, Dyson and the Audit Commission.

Omar Ali, UK Financial Services Managing Partner at EY, said: “Schroders is a world-leading asset management firm and we are honoured to now include it amongst our UK and global financial services client base. We are proud of the vital role our profession plays in the functioning of the world’s capital markets.

“Our global scale, investments into audit technology, deep sector insights, and unrelenting focus on audit quality ensures that we are well-positioned to serve companies like Schroders; this is another major appointment for our growing financial services audit practice.”
