Ex-Dragons’ Den investor endorses Scottish start-up GiftRound
Scottish fintech firm GiftRound has garnered recognition from retail businessman Theo Paphitis through his Small Business Sunday (#SBS) social media initiative.
GiftRound’s founder, Craig Forsythe, engaged with Mr Paphitis on LinkedIn, leading to the business being selected as one of six weekly winners. This win resulted in a repost of GiftRound’s message to Mr Paphitis’s extensive social media following of over half a million.
GiftRound, a group gifting platform, now enjoys increased visibility and a profile on the #SBS website.
Craig Forsythe, GiftRound’s founder and CEO, said: “As a small, passionate team of five, we’re absolutely delighted to be acknowledged by Theo Paphtis in this way and are really excited to join the #SBS network and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and learn from this inspiring community.
“Our team always knew there was something magic about GiftRound group collections but when someone like Theo Paphitis sees that you’re onto something, it means the world to you.”
Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.
“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish GiftRound every success.”
GiftRound, a recent addition to the Gift Card and Voucher Association (GCVA), is dedicated to enhancing the gift card experience. Businesses seeking a boost from Paphitis can engage with him on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) during Small Business Sunday, using the #SBS hashtag. Six winners receive a repost, website profile, and access to networking events.
