Eversheds Sutherland appoints financial services and commercial litigator Alastair Frood
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Alastair Frood, a financial services and commercial litigator, as litigation & disputes partner.
Mr Frood, who will join the global legal practice on 6 January 2020, has over 20 years’ experience, during which time he has built a reputation as a highly-experienced all-round litigator.
He arrives as the first litigation & disputes partner within the Edinburgh office and will grow the presence of the team, working closely with Eversheds Sutherland’s international teams to advise the increasing number of clients with financial services disputes and commercial litigation concerns in Scotland.
Mr Frood joins from Shepherd and Wedderburn where he led its banking and finance litigation team. He is registered to practice in Scotland and qualified in 1996. He joined Shepherd and Wedderburn in 2008, and previously was head of banking and finance litigation at DLA Piper Scotland.
In addition to financial and commercial litigation, Mr Frood has grown his practice to cover personal injury, professional negligence, fraud, contentious trust and executries, and charity related matters. He has experience working alongside all players in the financial services sector, including retail banks, building societies and major clearing banks. He also works closely with other financial and professional services including funders, insurers, auditors and advisers.
