ESG specialist Laura Jones joins CBRE’s Scottish business
Real estate advisor CBRE has strengthened its ESG expertise in Scotland with a key appointment.
Chartered surveyor Laura Jones has joined the firm as a senior sustainability consultant and will be based in the Edinburgh office where a new ESG Consultancy team has been created. She has relocated from CBRE’s Valuations team in London, where she carried out commercial property valuations as a registered valuer.
Ms Jones played a key role in launching the firm’s first Sustainability in Valuations team and worked with several clients to help them to better understand the impact sustainability has on a property’s value.
In her new role, Ms Jones will use her commercial experience to work with Scottish clients as well as existing clients throughout the UK, adding value to the firm’s sustainability consultancy services by providing technical support to investor clients’ ESG strategies.
Ms Jones said: “Sustainability is one of the biggest changes to real estate in decades. I’m thrilled to be joining CBRE’s ESG Consultancy team and playing my part in decarbonising real estate across the UK.”
Mark Little, head of CBRE’s Edinburgh office, added: “The appointment of Laura is vitally important to our strategy of providing sustainability consultancy across our UK network.
“It underpins the great ESG work we have already been doing in Scotland including carbon reduction projects, net zero carbon developments and not least our new Glasgow office which is targeting BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold accreditation.”
