EQ Accountants offer free landlord seminars on recent legislative and tax changes
Angus-based estate and lettings agency Wardhaugh Property have announced a series of seminars in partnership with Dundee-based EQ Accountants LLP on the private rented sector to help landlords understand implications of recent legislative and tax changes, as well as advise on the impact of Brexit and any further changes to come.
The first seminar of the series is due to place today (15th November) at Finavon Hotel, Forfar from 6pm to 8pm.
Anyone with an interest in the private rented sector is invited to attend.
The second will take place on Monday, November 21st at Discovery Point, Dundee from 6pm to 8pm and the final seminar is on Wednesday, November 23rd at Arbroath Football Club, Arbroath, from 6pm to 8pm.
The sector has been hit by a rise in stamp duty on second homes as well as tax hikes on buy-to-let mortgage interest relief, due to come into effect at the beginning of 2017.
Meanwhile, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) has set out a timetable for lenders to tighten up criteria for buy-to-let borrowing meaning landlords will have to ensure higher levels of rent relative to their mortgage costs.
Wardhaugh’s managing director Amanda Wiewiorka will be joined by partner and head of taxation at EQ Accountants LLP, David Morrison, for the series of seminars in Forfar, Dundee and Arbroath this month.
The seminars are free to attend and open to anyone who has an interest in the sector.
Tea, coffee and a light buffet will be provided.
To reserve your place please email Amanda@wardhaughproperty.co.uk with your name and the location of the seminar you wish to attend.
