The Scottish women-led angel investment group, Mint Ventures, has welcome seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, Jamie Landale, as a non-executive director.

Mr Landale, from Crieff, is the founder of The Crieff Food Company and Wilde Thyme Ltd and drove both companies to industry acclaim before executing successful exits. His expertise lies in establishing new businesses, creating high-performing teams, driving financial success, and navigating complex business landscapes, making him a sought-after advisor, mentor, and non-executive director. He will help support and shape Mint’s vision to bring a new dimension to co-investing with male allies backing more companies with mixed leadership teams.

With over 20 years of experience spanning the UK, Europe, America, and the Far East, Mr Landale has a deep understanding of business growth, strategic development, and operational excellence. Now pursuing a portfolio career, Jamie has held roles on several boards and advisory panels, providing strategic insight to private equity-backed, entrepreneur-led, and family-owned businesses.

Mr Landale is also a father to a son and two daughters, all of whom are just beginning their own career journeys. He is passionate about ensuring they all have the same opportunities he had to follow their dreams – whether that’s as an entrepreneur, investor, or something entirely different. His commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive business environment is one of the many reasons he’s excited to join Mint Ventures.

Gillian Fleming, founder and CEO of women-led angel investment group, Mint Ventures, said: “Encouraging more women to enter the world of investing in early stage companies is at the heart of our work but we invest in diverse leadership teams as research tells us that balanced teams consistently deliver more sustainability and profitability.

“Having Jamie on-board will help to drive our inclusive vision and support our strategy for widening the UK’s pool of women investors, as well as growing often under supported, underrepresented and underfunded business sectors such as Retail, Food & Drink, Femtech, the creative industries and tourism.”

Mr Landale added: “Entrepreneurs are always navigating tricky terrain – whether it’s securing funding or finding the right mentors to help them grow. That’s why what Mint Ventures is doing is so important.

“They connect ambitious business owners with investors and advisors who truly understand their journey. I’m looking forward to working with Gillian and the team to support businesses with strong social, ethical, and environmental values.”

Mr Landale joins co-founder of Mint Ventures, Professor Gillian Fleming and director Mary Jane Brouwers, to lead the business.
