The second annual Invest2Scale business summit, designed to bolster Scotland’s most promising scale-up companies, is set to return in Edinburgh on 31 October.

While Invest2Scale aims to support scale-ups from all sectors, this year’s one-day event, hosted at the Edinburgh’s new Virgin Hotel, will feature a specific focus on the space and fintech sectors with an audience of entrepreneurs and senior figures from both the UK and global investment community.

Space companies including Skyrora, Krucial, and Sofant Technologies along with Scottish-based fintech DirectID will be among the businesses and organisations involved in the year’s Invest2Scale.

Invest2Scale, launched in 2022 by a consortium comprising law firm MBM Commercial, advisers CT, recruitment specialists Eden Scott, and Angel Capital Scotland (previously known as LINC Scotland), provides revenue-generating, high-growth potential Scottish firms with direct access to investors and venture capitalists.

As well as providing a platform for up-and-coming Scottish scale-up companies, the 2023 event will feature panel discussions on key business growth issues including global expansion; C-suite recruitment; partnering with investors; and the challenges around attracting investment in Scotland.

Kirsty Paton, entrepreneurial tax director at CT, one of the founding organisations behind Invest2Scale, said: “Following the positive impact of last year’s inaugural Invest2Scale event, we are delighted to be returning in October for our second annual gathering aimed at supporting Scottish scale-ups.

“This face-to-face event is focused on promoting economic growth opportunities across Scotland by targeting revenue-generating companies with significant scalability and putting them in front of investors and other key figures within the global business community.

“While the event will be relevant to businesses from all sectors, this year’s focus on space and fintech shines a light on two key growth sectors within Scotland’s scale-up community.”

The 2023 summit offers a platform for budding Scottish scale-ups and will feature panel discussions addressing crucial business growth topics, including global expansion, C-suite recruitment, investor partnerships, and the particular challenges of attracting investment in Scotland.

Alan Donald of Angel Capital Scotland said: “Along with the other Invest2Scale founder partners, we will leverage our experience and close relationships within Scotland’s business community to help identify many of the companies that could maximise the impact of additional growth investment.

“Over the next few weeks, we also look forward to announcing more details about this year’s line-up of industry experts and key business influencers from Scotland and many other parts of the globe.”

Additional details about the summit and the lineup of industry experts and influencers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
