Edinburgh entrepreneurs takeover HSBC branch for small business pop-up week
HSBC has provided Edinburgh-based entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to showcase their businesses inside their local HSBC branch as part of the bank’s UK-wide Small Business Pop-Up Week.
In Edinburgh a number of local businesses, including Barrhead Travel, Enhance Fashion accessories and Business Gateway, were setup inside HSBC’s Princes Street branch, giving them access to new customers while maximising exposure of their brand.
The week-long event commenced on Monday 28 November, with the UK-wide initiative seeing more than 300 businesses being given prime space within their local HSBC branch to promote their products and services.
Richard Bearman, HSBC’s Head of Small Business in the UK, said: “Small Business Pop-Up Week provided a unique opportunity for many small, local enterprises to better connect with their local community. The initiative supported the growth ambitions of these entrepreneurs by offering them a space to showcase their products and services, network with potential new customers and increase awareness of their businesses.
“More broadly, the initiative is part of HSBC’s commitment to supporting small UK businesses, who are the lifeblood of every local economy.”
HSBC supports more than one million businesses in the UK and in May launched its largest every package of support for UK SMEs through a £10bn lending fund. HSBC also recently launched its ‘Best Tariff’ initiative, which ensures businesses are on the best standard tariff that suits their banking behaviours.
