eCommerce agency Hudson closes Q1 ahead of forecasts thanks to rapid growth
Glasgow-based eCommerce agency Hudson has closed Q1 ahead of forecasts after continuing to experience rapid growth.
The firm, which is headquartered in Glasgow and has a presence in both Manchester and Copenhagen, finished the period 10% ahead of its projected target.
In the last month alone, Hudson has added 14 new clients to its portfolio across the three locations. Operating predominately within the retail sector, Hudson’s growth reflects the continued shift of businesses turning to eCommerce to support their growth ambitions and to plug the revenue gap left by the closure of physical stores during the pandemic.
Having already doubled its headcount from seven to 14 in the last year to March 2021, Hudson’s portfolio expansion is seeing the business recruit further staff.
Ryan Findlay, CEO of Hudson, said: “Gap’s recent announcement on the closure of all its high street stores to become a digital-first business is yet another reminder of companies’ needs to adapt their business models to respond to the way that consumer shopping habits are shifting.
“Q1 was an excellent start for us, onboarding several new clients and helping them to map out their strongest routes to establish or grow their operations. This has often involved integration with pre-existing platforms, and, through the development of our own proprietary tools, we have been able to create bespoke sites that deliver excellent results for the changing needs of our clients.
“We are growing a sizeable team of highly skilled, talented individuals, as we continue to expand, working hard to help clients use data driven insights and real time reporting to track and manage their digital operations.
“I am confident that this upward curve will continue as we move through the year and I look forward to working with more businesses who are recognising the opportunities and value that come with investing in their online infrastructure.”
After establishing a presence in Copenhagen at the start of 2021, Hudson recently cemented its commitment to the City with the signing of an office lease. The move follows the firm’s strategic focus of tapping into the city’s growing tech scene and talent pool.
The team is led by Ben Hoskin, director of growth, whose career includes the role of Head of Global Enterprise at Trustpilot, which he joined when it was fledgling start up and helped develop into a FTSE 250 company.
Hudson expects to reach its projected turnover of £1.5 million by the end of 2022.
